08 September 2019 The Granfondo del Gusto is a NON-COMPETITIVE cycling event open to any cyclist registered with a valid 2017 membership card.

The routes are the following: Cyclotourist 41 km, Medio Fondo 83 km, Gran Fondo 114 km.

GRAN FONDO DEL GUSTO GUIDELINES

Any cyclist taking part at the Granfondo del Gusto must be a member of UISP or any other federation whose membership includes insurance, and this membership must be valid for 2019.  Anyone not in possession of such a membership can register with UISP in advance by sending an email to info@gfdelusto.it when registering for the event.

Any participants wishing to cycle the three routes must present an identity document and the 2019 UCI membership card of their federation (or photocopy of one)..

Independent participants must show up at the arrival point between 10.30 and 11.30 and pay a fee of € 5,00 per person; this includes a refreshment and a souvenir of the event.

It is compulsory to wear a safety-tested rigid helmet and keep it secured, and to show the Entry Coupon on the handlebars to facilitate registration at checkpoints.

The event is by invitation and the Organizing Committee may decide to accept or decline a registration at their discretion.

Registration fee: 15 € by 09/04/2019, 20 € til 09/07/2019 and 25€ the day of the event. up, go to the appropriate session

Sand a copy of the registration form and payment to florencebybike@email.itOn 2/09 it will be possible to sign up only at the Florence by Bike shop in Via San Zanobi 54 / r with cash payment.

Race bag: You will be able to collect rage bags (by providing us with your 2019 federation membership card or the Health Certificate for cardiovascular intensive sport activity, signed and stamped by your own doctor, and a valid identity document) on Saturday September the 7th from 10am – 7pm at Florence by Bike – Via San Zanobi 54r, Florence. Sunday September the 08th from 7:00 at Centro Sportivo G.S.D. Albereta San Salvi in Via Villamagna 150, Florence.

Start: from 7:30 to 8:30am. For those wanting to cycle the longer route, we suggest leaving no later than 7:30.

Refreshments: Three refreshment points with food and drinks can be found on the longer course, two on the intermediate course and one on the short course.

Pasta Party: Centro Sportivo G.S.D. Albereta San Salvi in Via Villamagna 150, Florence.

Parking: At Centro Sportivo G.S.D. Albereta San Salvi in Via Villamagna 150, Florence

Checkpoints: Checkpoints are located at the starting point, at the refreshment stands, and at the finish point.

Prize: Being a non-competitive event, no individual prize will be awarded. As with any event forming part of the “le Terre dei Medici” network, prizes are awarded to the first ten Sport Societies attending with the highest number of participants starting and finishing the race.
Prizes not collected on Sunday September 8th NOT be delivered to the Sport Societies.

Total cancellation of the event: Should the event be cancelled by cause of force majeure, the registration fee will not be reimbursed.

Medical Assistance: The emergency number in Italy is 118.

Mechanical Support Phone number: Should you need any mechanical help, please call +39 328/4921714. The response time depends on the availability of the mechanic and his/her distance from you.

Rules: The Veloclub Florence by Bike who organise the event will not be held responsible for accident or damage to people, animals, or objects that may occur before, during and after the cycling event. Every participant must respect the Italian highway code. For every single aspect not included in this list you may refer to UISP code.

Duty & Right: The participant may choose the route most suitable to his or her own capability during the event by respecting the check points. Those who will not respect them will not be awarded any points.

During the race, we invite you to respect the environment and to dispose of waste at the check points or at the finish point in the waste containers.
Anyone caught littering will be disqualified.
